The assignment gave instruction to take a picture bio- and it meant in the broad sense of the word. The first day of class this session was a special day. My grand piano was delivered to my house. I had to take a few pictures. I loved the angle of the keys in the picture. I spend a lot of time teaching at the piano- so I felt this fit my bio perfectly.

I have always loved the architectural feature in our atrium at church. The steel beams angle up to the sky and it just breathtaking. I knew right away that I would snap a few pictures of this area for the assignment. I felt like this assignment gave me the chance to find beauty in simplicity.

This week was a challenge with subject and lighting. I used a metal sign for this week. I couldn't get the frame just right before I lost daylight. I found it is difficult to take 2d shots of 'glass' framed work as well. This type of work requires some patience and time.
Settings 6mm F/6.3 1/1250sec ISO 400 AP O Full noon day sun
It was a challenge trying to find a 'cool' subject for this week. My 'eye' for the shot was really enhanced this week. I was snapping pictures left and right trying to find something that inspired me.
My Mason penny jar struck me as cool when I placed it in the full noon day sun. I love the movement from the glass jar and the texture of the pennies.

This week a 3d subject was in order. Playing with lighting and setting the mood for our pictures. Snoopy, our sweet, chubby beagle was the perfect choice here. He is a great sport when I ask him to do a shoot.
He sat in the sun and endured 15 shots. He got a treat for that!(a low fat one of course!)

Bracketing gave a different option when taking pictures. Avery's official mark of summer is a new pair of 'flops'. I had to include them in my bracketing exercises.

Taking a comparison this week between digital and film. These lovely purple flowers were taken with my digital Sony Cybershot DSC H-1. The colors are so vibrant. It feels like you could reach out and touch them.
This experiment was very interesting. It is amazing how far photography has come.

Another chance to capture a true belly laugh. I couldn't resist this moment. He is talking to his cousin Mason about the upcoming K-5 graduation ceremony that night. You know they were scheming something here.
I took 14 shots of him on the phone. This one was one of the best.

Many of the Master Photographers had such wonderful links showcasing their work with portraits. I love to catch kids in their natural state of play. Here is my nephew Casen enjoy a treat for Memorial Day.
Settings 15mm f/8 1/320 AP o Late afternoon overcast. Used Photoshop for adjustments on color and texture.
I looked into Jim Zuckerman's work. I found such great ideas from his viewpoint. This road side memorial is for Jame Michael Everett. He was 13 yrs. when he was killed in a car accident in 2004. His mom is a very close friend of mine. The accident scene is yards from my house and I see it everyday.
I felt the division of the frame made this picture what it is.
It has been so interesting learning all of the different features on my camera. This session will certainly help personally and professionally as I use photography in both areas.

My oldest son Te'yler took this shot for me earlier this session. I just love this picture! I think the blur, movement and angle make unique.

I spotted these beautiful hydrangeas as I left piano lessons today. I love the round burst of pedals on the flower. I like how(by accident) I was able to catch the tall flower and the smaller one as well.
